Its name pays homage to a nearby historic landmark—the colonial-era Bull's Bridge—which spans the Housatonic River. Originally built by Jacob Bull to serve his grist and sawmill operations, the bridge not only served practical needs but also became part of local lore, with some accounts even suggesting it was used by George Washington during the Revolutionary War.
